From Grand Opening Events, to Live Conference Events, Weddings and Milestone Birthday Events, the highlights are too great to summarize in one single blog post. So, here is a not-so-quick but oh-so-beautiful highlight of our Weddings in 2018 which included 19 Celebrations of Love!
Sheena & Antoine blessed us with our first wedding of the Spring season in Morrow, GA with their Multi-cultural fusion of Sierra Leone and Caribbean wedding, they also welcomed their baby girl on this past Christmas!
Kaleigh & Chris had a perfect wedding for their outdoor nuptials at 9 Oaks Farm in Monroe, GA. The party went on well into the night as their guests celebrated their happily ever after.
Tevie & John celebrated their love in a rooftop ceremony at The Four Seasons in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, in one of our favorite seating styles; ceremony in the round. Their beautiful love story is featured in the Spring/Summer 2019 Edition of Modern Luxury Weddings Atlanta.
It was destination wedding time with Jennifer & Emmanuel as we traveled to Tybee Island, GA to witness their intimate wedding at the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. The weather was nothing short of amazing and the island vibes were a plenty from the cuisine to the music to honor Emmanuel’s Haitian heritage.
War Eagle! Alex & Ian kicked off the first of our three Auburn Alum weddings in 2018 with what we dubbed OUR Royal Wedding in Birmingham, AL at The Harbert Center. Hues of Mauve, Gray, Lavender and Rose Gold were perfect accents to a love filled day. Marrying your best friend was a theme throughout the year!
Simone & Dustin didn’t allow rain to ruin their wedding day. These two made our hearts melt with what will go down in the OTE history books as THE PERFECT first look (we are #TeamFirstLook at OneTouch!). The Wimbish House in Atlanta, GA provided the backdrop to a family filled celebration with a packed dance floor until the lights turned on.
Attorneys Mellori & Kevin were both cool, calm and collected at their Agnes Scott College wedding in Decatur, GA ceremony & reception. One of our favorite designs of the year was the grand estate table where the families dined, dripped in ombre shades of plums and lavender. Paying homage to their love for Atlanta, the couple selected a delectable menu of southern favorites and each guest walked away with personalized glass Coca-Cola bottles as keepsakes.
Caryn & Henry may be alumni of my rival school, but not all University of Alabama alums are that bad. In fact, we may have had the most fun over drinks & popcorn, planning all of the details for their 300+ attended Catholic ceremony at the Catholic Shrine of Immaculate Conception in Downtown, Atlanta and rooftop roaming reception at Ventanas. Yes, you too can have a wedding reception without 100% seating…and it was PERFECT.
Quiana & Bunmi shared their vows and commitment in front of their family and friends on August 18, 2018 at Mason Fine Art in Atlanta, GA which was likely the most popular wedding date in the history of wedding dates (hello, it was a Saturday as well!) with guests as local to Atlanta and as far as Nigeria. This wedding was very near and dear to my heart as Quiana is a fellow classmate from Auburn and they trusted us to create a work of art. As committed advocates of Women Owned and Black Owned businesses, we took on the challenge to pull together the best team to represent their own version of art from the invitation design to the linen, and all areas in between.
On any given sunny Saturday, you will hear the words “I Do”, and Chinyere & James joyfully said their vows at The Carter Center in Downtown Atlanta, GA with a reception rich in Nigerian cultural elements in Lithonia, GA. Chinyere’s gown was breathtaking on her wedding day with a train for days and James and his guys were picture perfect in charcoal gray.
Jewel & Zekarias shared their commitment to each other at Mason Fine Art, in a modern designed ceremony & reception with Ethiopian flare paying homage to Zek’s heritage. They laughed, they danced, they swag surfed and ended the night with the most perfect dip & kiss at the end of their wedding night…did you two practice this?!
Amber & Dorrell’s secret garden wedding in the city at Ventanas in Downtown Atlanta oozed romance from the iron gate at the entrance to the aisle, to the magical oak tree built in the middle of the reception. The look of love on their faces the entire night was felt by all and Amber kept the glam going with a sultry dress change to dance the night away.
When it comes to minimalistic elegance, it gets no better than our Georgia Tech alumni couple, Asia & Josh’s wedding at The Brickyard in Marietta, GA. The couple went with a lovely color palette of maroon and classic black for their wedding party and in their florals which popped beautifully off their all white reception seating. There may or may not have been doughnuts…yes, there were doughnuts and they were delicious, thank you Sublime Doughnuts!
Gina & Jeremy brought us to The Fernbank of Natural History in Atlanta for their fall wedding, where we celebrated the #GillLoveStory in a ceremony that included Gina’s talented family members from the Officiant to the Soloist! The reception was the epitome of fun complete with a dance battle between the bridesmaids & groomsmen, and yes the ladies killed it (of course!) Gina & Jeremy truly embodied the saying “don’t sweat the small stuff” and enjoyed their planning experience from beginning to the very end/beginning of their happily ever after!
It only took 6 years to book our first Vow Renewal and Asheia & Zhivago’s 10 Year Vow Renewal was nothing short of the Harlem Renaissance fairytale vision. And Asheia’s girl gang was #squadgoals with their super fun, bonding photo that took Instagram by storm…and still does today!
Kayla & James brought us to Hoover, Alabama to celebrate their love at Noah’s Event Venue of Hoover, where Kayla + James had the most magical outdoor portraits and Kayla served some LOOKS in her bridal session. The Flash Bar graced us with a double photobooth that the crowd could not be torn away from, a singer + a heavenly singer + piano duo for cocktail hour, and a get away car departure for the ages!
One of our own #TeamOneTouch team members tied the knot in 2018!! Samantha & Ian planned a wedding at Venue 92 in Woodstock, GA that perfectly represented the two of them; full of family, friends, tons of dancing & FUN! Another first look favorite, Sam & Ian read letters aloud to each other, in that private moment before saying “I Do”.
Terri & Lewis couldn’t have asked for better weather for their outdoor ceremony & cocktail hour at The Barn at Shady Lane in Hoover, AL. Another War Eagle couple, Terri & Lewis trusted our vision of turning the barn into an elegant Gatsby inspired reception with a few Harry Potter touches to their fall wedding ?. Working with some of the best creatives in Birmingham, including Terri’s sister Cakes by Kim, their wedding will be featured in the 2019 Spring/Summer issue of Munaluchi Bride.
We closed out our wedding season on December 30th with a winter brunch wedding for Tenesha & Randolph at Ashton Gardens in Sugar Hill, GA. The Brooks’ traveled from Connecticut to Georgia and their 100 guests had CHURCH, complete with a spirit filled sermonette by their home pastor, solos and hymns, which crystalized their vows.
Phew!! 2018, you owe us not one thing. I am so thankful that #TeamOneTouch was chosen to share our talents and our gift of service to each of our couples. Onward to 2019!
Cheers, Jillian
