Where do I even begin? On last week, several months and hundreds (yes hundreds!) of planning hours were made real with our client Happy Black Woman LLC’s 3rd Live Training Event, The Blogging School to almost 100 women entrepreneurs. This time, we took the event on the road to our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. and were greeted with a warm welcome and stellar service by the Hotel Palomar.
The theme of The Blogging School Live event was “Claim Your Freedom” and we met the design challenge posed by our client to produce a travel inspired event. Each attendee chose a pre-registration level of First Class, Business Class or Economy Class to indicate the level of VIP services they would receive upon arrival. We took this concept and created a design board with International travel elements such as a Passport backdrop for all signage, boarding pass sleeve to hold registration collateral, drink tickets that resembled baggage claim checks as well as a VIP lunch ticket as their “airport lounge” all-access pass. We enlisted the design expertise of Royale Amethyst Invitations located in New York City to design and produce these wow worthy elements. Yes, we heard the word “wow” upon check-in at our registration area.
This live event kicked off with the First Class attendees engaging in an intimate Location-Independent session with Rosetta Thurman, Founder of Happy Black Woman LLC and ended with a Headshot Happy Hour where we arranged for each attendee to receive a professional Head Shot for their new or existing website, all while enjoying music, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries; First Class all the way!
One of the many highlights of the weekend was the signature Authentic Networking Reception, which is held the first full day of each of the HBW live events. This time, we renamed the event to the Aloha Friday Reception, which was a precursor to the announcement of the next HBW retreat location, Honolulu, Hawaii. The ladies enjoyed our signature drink, the Happy-Tai which was a delicious Mai-Tai inspired drink, island hors d’oeuvres, vibrant linens and tropical florals as they danced the evening away to all of Rosetta’s favorite 90s anthems by local DMV DJ James Mclean.
Enough of my ramblings. Let the recap video give you a quick glimpse into the awesomeness of the weekend by our official event Photographer & Videographer for the weekend, Chip Dizard Studios!
