OTE Couple: Alex & Ian’s Engagement Session

As the wedding season has exploded with amazing celebrations of love this year, we’re so blessed to be able to continue to share our couple’s beautiful love stories here on the blog. Alexandria (Alex) and Ian are due to be wed in just a few short sleeps in Birmingham.

Alex, now a Senior Accountant and Ian, now a Project Engineer, met in college (Auburn University) during their freshmen year. We asked the future Mrs. to share the proposal story with us (which also fills you in on a bit of their relationship’s background).

“It all started when Ian was offered a job in Atlanta. He was currently living in Birmingham and I was residing in Atlanta. When he was offered a job, we were talking about all the thing we wanted to do once he moved to the city. He came up with the idea of us having a date night every weekend and we would alternate on who would choose what we were going to do for the date. This particular weekend was his choice of course. He decided that we were going to go to Brio’s Tuscan Grille. I got dressed and we were headed on the date. In my mind, nothing was out of the ordinary. Ian went to the Hostess stand and gave our name and we were headed to our seats (so I thought). We started walking to the back of the restaurant and I’m just thinking “maybe we are going to sit on the balcony” and of course that was not the case. Two doors opened and there was all of my family and friends!!! As I turn towards Ian, he gets on his knees and asked me the big question. I was so happy and full that Ian took the time to get all my family and friends to Atlanta for the surprise engagement. That is easily one of the best days of my life!!! I was so happy that my best friend asked me to be his forever!!!!”

Ian left it up to us (and their photographer) to find the perfect locations for their engagement session. It was a wonderful challenge to find two unique backdrops for their two looks. The casual look was captured at The Goat Farm and the formal look was at King’s Plow Art Center. They were naturals in front of the camera- we love how well the images turned out!

We just know their May wedding is going to be exactly what they’re hoping for- romantic, classy, glamorous & FUN!
